13/11/2009 - Bloodchild shortlisted for the Calderdale Children's Book of the Year Award 2010.
Tim has just received news that Bloodchild has been shortlisted for the Calderdale Children's Book of the Year Award 2010.
The books were chosen from a longlist by a team of children's library specialists, a reader development officer and author, and teaching students, who all thought that Bloodchild was 'a very powerful and well written novel, and a great read to introduce to young people.' The selection team were impressed by 'the quality, freshness and impact of the exciting storyline and underlying themes'.
Over 100 children will be reading and discussing the shortlist, and they will select the winner at a Literary Lunch on Wednesday 7 July 2010 where prizes will be given to young people who have written the best reviews.
Tim has agreed to attend the Literary Lunch and to run two writing workshops. He said, 'I'm delighted and honoured to be on the shortlist of this exciting award.'
