05/02/2010 - Tim opens 'place of dreams' library at William Parker School in Daventry
Tim visited William Parker School in Daventry on 27 January 2010 as Guest of Honour for the opening of the new Library and Resource Centre.
The refurbishment of the Library and Resource Centre was partly funded by the local authority and the school. The development took three years to complete and includes a new library section, computers, career development corner and school reception area.
Opening the centre Tim said 'You can call this a library or a learning resource centre. I call it a dream house. Everything is a product of a dream, a vision an idea - this room is not unlike a book in that way.'
Following the opening of the centre Tim ran a series of workshops with the pupils. Sue Le Chat, Learning Resource Centre Manager, said 'the students were really inspired by Tim.'
Tim had a lovely day at William Parker School and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the staff and pupils. He was hugely impressed by the commitment of all concerned and added, 'I feel really honoured to have been allowed to make a small contribution to the opening of this magnificent library.'
