08/03/2010 - Bloodchild shortlisted for the 2010 Lancashire Book of the Year Award.
Tim has just received news that Bloodchild has been shortlisted for the 2010 Lancashire Book of the Year Award. This award was established in 1986 and offers an opportunity for young people to draw attention to the books they would most like to recommend.
The shortlist was decided after almost 500 Year 9 students from 12 high schools around Lancashire read 80 books – and voted for their favourites. This process began last September and months of work, reading and talking went into the choice.
As well as including Bloodchild, the shortlist includes:

Previous winners have been Philip Pullman, Anthony Horowitz and also Tim.
Voting is now taking place and the winning book will be announced at County Hall, Preston on 28th May 2010.
