17/06/2010 - Tim attended Eagle House Children’s Literature Festival 2010

The first Children’s Literature Festival at Eagle House School in Sandhurst, Berkshire took place between 14-18 June. The Festival is a celebration of children’s literature and involved numerous authors including Anne Fine, Mark Billingham, Marcus Sedgwick, Jamila Gavin and Tim. See the Festival Blog

Tim ran a workshop for Year 8 students and then spoke to a large audience of staff and pupils about his novels and method of writing. In response to a request from the Head of English, he also gave the first ever public reading from Chapter One of Buried Thunder. Since the novel has not yet been published (it is due out in February 2011), Tim read the passage directly from his laptop.

Tim said, ‘The staff and pupils at Eagle House were so friendly and passionate about books. It was a real treat to take part in their first ever Book Festival’.
