‘As I’ve mentioned before, Tim Bowler, the author behind the Blade series, is something of a hero in our house. Not only has his series propelled my son into reading but six boys in his class are also now gripped by the thrilling, action-packed series. Read my earlier post on this subject here. Last Friday Tim Bowler gave a presentation on Blade with readings from the series at the Copenhagen Book Fair. He was an extraordinarily good speaker and it was wonderful to see the enthusiastic response from the boys who were present. My son and his best friend, who is also hooked on the series, were both there and they were able to have a chat with the author after the event. Hats off once again to Tim Bowler, who has not only written a series that grips the imagination of boys, including those who find reading a challenge, but who is also kind and sensitive to his audience and an outstanding verbal communicator. So to those who haven’t yet tried the Blade series (all of which is available in a Danish translation), here is another warm recommendation.’
