Short Stories

Tim Bowler Quote

‘I’ve always loved short stories. I started writing them when I was very young and quickly discovered how tricky they are. It’s hard to get a short story right. You sometimes hear people advise aspiring writers to start with short stories because they’re (supposedly) easier to write than novels. I think that’s a fallacy. Short stories and novels are totally different media. Being good at one doesn’t mean you’ll be good at the other, and they’re both difficult in different ways. Fortunately, I like a good challenge!’
