This year’s Hay Festival of Literature & Arts will run from May 21 to 31.  Devised by Norman and Peter Florence in 1988, the festival was described by Bill Clinton in 2001 as ‘The Woodstock of the mind’. The Hay Festival is rooted in the Welsh book town of Hay-on-Wye, but has expanded internationally. There are now Hay Festivals in Bangladesh, Colombia, Kenya, Ireland, Lebanon, Mexico and Spain (where Tim will also be speaking later this year).

The programme at Hay Festival Wales includes Stephen Fry, Judi Dench, Toni Morrison, Joan Bakewell, Cassandra Clare, Julia Donaldson, Arianna Huffington, Jennifer Saunders, Francesca Simon and Jacqueline Wilson.

Tim will be involved in two events. Friday 22 May (at 11.15) is a solo event which is part of the Schools programme. Tim will talk about his most recent books, Night Runner and Game Changer and give advice to keen writers in the audience on how to hook and grip the reader.

On Saturday 23 May (at 13.00) Tim is part of a panel with authors Ken Oppel and Sam Hepburn, chaired by Daniel Hahn. They will discuss the secret of keeping their readers turning the pages.
