On Monday 1st October Tim visited Holsworthy Community College as part of the Appledore Book Festival. The college has been involved with the Festival for three years and this year Tim and fellow author Pete Johnson were the writers visiting the college to talk to students.

Tim spoke to Year 7 and read extracts from Blade and Buried Thunder. He encouraged the students to read as widely as possible and advised young writers to ‘dip the bucket deep into the well of the imagination and see what comes up.’ The photograph shows Ella from Year 7 sharing her poems with Tim.

Christine Wade, Senior Librarian at Holsworthy Community College, wrote to Tim and said, ‘Thank you once again for a brilliant visit. We hope you make a return visit soon.’

The students have also been writing about the visit, both in emails and letters to Tim, and as comments for the library. The link below shows a selection.
